Notes | In this doctoral dissertation, the author addresses two questions about climate change and forestry. In a changing climate, when you replant after harvesting timber, do you re-plant the same species as before, or do you plant a species you believe will do better in a changing climate? This question takes up the first half of the work, and is concerned with forests in the Eastern United States. The second question is concerned with the ideal widths of no-cut riparian zones in Oregon coastal forests. These are important questions with important answers. David J. Lewis was the major professor. |
